Cate is an associate with the firm's Commercial Finance practice group. Her practice focuses on commercial lending transactions, representing banks and other financial institutions in connection with the negotiation, documentation and administration of syndicated and single-lender credit facilities, asset-based loans, and acquisition financing in a variety of industries.

Prior to attending law school, Cate graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in English, double minoring in Environmental Studies and Women's and Gender Studies. During this time, she was a member of the school's Track and Cross Country teams.

During law school, Cate was active within the legal community, gaining experience in both state and federal court. In Washington, D.C., she externed at The United States Court of Federal Claims, Office of Special Masters, and Cate interned for the Honorable Robert M.D. Turk at the 27th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia. Cate was a research assistant for Wake Forest University School of Law professors John H. Knox, Special Rapporteur to the United Nations on Human Rights and the Environment, and Abigail Perdue. She was also a Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy teaching assistant. Cate completed the summer clerkship program at Parker Hudson in 2016.

In 2017, Cate graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She enjoys walking the BeltLine, birding, reading, and being with family and friends.
