Newsroom - June 2011

Parker Hudson is one of the proud supporters of the 2011 High School Pipeline Program through its participation in the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program (in partnership with the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys in Law & Business, Inc. and Atlanta's John Marshall Law School). Held at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, this program gives minority high school students a unique opportunity to prepare for college and ultimately law school. Selected students attend a nine-day program, which includes classes lead by teachers and practicing attorneys covering grammar, writing and public speaking, as well as topics like “Building Solid Study Skills” and “Selecting Your College and Beyond.” There is a speech and essay competition, mentoring sessions at various law firms and corporate law departments, and sessions with attorneys to discuss topics from internet and email etiquette to resume writing. This year, Wayne Hillis, Kathleen Currey, Trish Treadwell, and Melissa Burton participated in one or more public speaking classes.
