As a testament to its perseverance, the firm recently secured a victory from the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in a decade–long, white–collar criminal case. In its fourth opinion in the matter, the Court affirmed a sentence that was well below the range recommended by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. At issue was an alleged bribery concerning the selection of underwriters for a Fulton County bond issue. The firm represented the former financial advisor to the county. The final opinion on sentencing involved the calculation of the selected underwriter's net profit on the deal and various mitigating circumstances.
