Former Parker Hudson litigation partner Hon. Keith R. Blackwell was sworn in as the 92nd justice of the Georgia Supreme Court on July 19, 2012. Justice Blackwell practiced with the firm from 2005-2010, when Governor Sonny Perdue appointed him to the Georgia Court of Appeals. Governor Nathan Deal appointed Justice Blackwell to the Supreme Court to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice George H. Carley. The ceremony took place in the State House chamber at the Georgia Capitol, with all current members of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals in attendance.
