The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a $2.2 million summary judgment won by Jay Rankin and Joshua Lewis in favor of one of the Firm's bank clients. The bank filed the suit in the Northern District of Georgia seeking damages for breach of multiple promissory notes and personal guaranties. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the federal district court's decision rejecting, as a matter of undisputed fact and law, the obligors' defenses and counterclaims alleging failure to mitigate damages, breach of an implied duty of good faith and fair dealing and mutual departure from contract terms.
