Employment and Civil Rights Litigation and Counseling

Overview

Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs' Employment and Civil Rights group has a wide and deep range of experience and expertise in defending the full spectrum of employment, discrimination, and civil rights claims under both federal and state laws, and in both individual and class and collective actions. We also regularly work on executive and non-compete agreements, as well as trade secret and ERISA issues.

We represent clients in counseling, policy manual and agreement review and drafting, arbitration, mediation, and litigation. Our clients range from Fortune 100 companies to small employers, consultants, and individuals, as well as governmental and trade association entities. We have an outstanding success record in dispute resolution.

Parker Hudson's Employment and Civil Rights Law practice group is headed by Senior Counsel, Lawrence Ashe, who has 45 years’ experience litigating all types of employment and civil rights disputes and has been recognized by the National Law Journal as the "Dean of the Management Class Action Bar." He is joined by partners Ron Coleman, Wayne Hillis, Jared Miller, Marbury Rainer, Eric Taylor, and Trish Treadwell, and associates Paul Barsness and Tiffany Johnson.

Several times per year, the Employment and Civil Rights Law group updates a paper on scored test and employment selection case law developments. Click here to view the Employment Tests and Personnel Selection Case Law Update, which is a quarterly survey of cases dealing with personnel selection issues of interest to clients and friends of the firm.

The Employment and Civil Rights Law practice group also publishes a quarterly newsletter covering recent trends in wage and hour litigation, which continues to dominate the non-criminal dockets of our court system. In a recent survey by Fulbright & Jaworski, a large sample of corporate general counsel cited wage and hour litigation as the number one type of litigation pending against their companies.
