Recruiting Attorneys

The recruitment of bright and highly motivated attorneys is essential to the success of our firm and we are focused on identifying and attracting outstanding candidates. Potential candidates should have excellent undergraduate and law school academics, law review or moot court experience, and strong extra-curricular activities. Depending on the specific needs of our practice teams, we hire attorneys with various levels of experience and backgrounds.

We offer candidates a collegial work environment that fosters continued professional development and professional excellence. We provide competitive pay, an attractive benefits package, and a bonus program. Our compensation and benefit packages are designed to be competitive with the major Atlanta law firms.

Interview Process

Our attorneys are very involved in our interview process. We start with an initial screening interview where the candidate will come to the office and meet with two or three partners from the practice group for which they are interviewing.

Following the screening interview and pending approval from practice group partners, the candidate will return to the office for a half-day of interviews with partners and associates from each of the firm's practice groups.

Mentoring / Professional Development

The firm assigns each new attorney at the firm a mentor in their practice group. The mentor will help the new lawyer with his/her transition into the firm.

Practice groups meet on a regular basis to discuss developments related to the practice area, as well as relevant information or skill-based information, such as drafting, deposition preparation, and other technical skills. The firm pays for all registration fees for required CLE seminars.

"The concept of 'collegiality' is used a lot by law firms to describe their working environment, and while many may well have some sense of collegiality, at Parker Hudson we take it to a new level. Everyone here -- partners and associates, lawyers and non-lawyers -- are more than just respected professional colleagues; we are also great friends. I can not think of a more invigorating atmosphere in which to practice."

Bob Brennan

"Parker Hudson is a great place to practice law. We work on sophisticated cases for many different types of clients. We emphasize hands-on experience and a streamlined approach to staffing matters that allows lawyers at all experience levels to make meaningful contributions to their cases. But most of all, we work in a highly collegial atmosphere, where folks genuinely enjoy working together to achieve the best possible results for our clients."

Ron Coleman
Partner, Atlanta Office

After spending the first 17 years of my career at an AmLaw 25 international firm, I was looking for something different and fortunately found it at Parker Hudson. It's refreshing to be able to work with the same top-quality lawyers and to do the same sophisticated work for the same kinds of clients, but to do it in a more collegial environment which is more of a traditional "law firm" than the "law corporation" model that most big firms have become. I'm very glad I made the change.

Josh Lewis
Associate, Atlanta Office

"PHRD partners and associates truly work as a team. Indeed, partners expect associates to handle a great deal of responsibility early on in their careers. At the same time, partners are always available to offer the support necessary for associates to learn and thrive as young lawyers. The partners I work with seem to truly enjoy teaching the art of the practice of law."

Lauren Jirak
Associate, Atlanta Office

"Everyone at the firm has a genuine interest in your legal education and career, and they sincerely want you to succeed. From day one, the attorneys will include you from start to finish on their engagements and invest their time and energy into your training."

Trish Treadwell
Partner, Atlanta Office

"My litigation practice at Parker, Hudson allows me to be a real trial lawyer--an experience that is increasingly rare in modern firms. I recently won a week-long jury trial where I was first-chair. It was the hope for that kind of experience that first attracted me to Parker, Hudson, and it is the firm's sustained delivery on that promise that keeps the practice so engaging."
