Cyberattacks on critical infrastructure have surged, with healthcare facing the most significant impact. From January 2023 to April 2024, healthcare suffered 14.2% of these attacks, underscored by high-profile incidents like the Change Healthcare ransomware attack. Additionally, healthcare companies now face heightened enforcement from the DOJ under the Civil Cyber-Fraud Initiative, which recently intervened in an FCA case against Georgia Tech, signaling the DOJ’s commitment to cyber-fraud enforcement even in the absence of data breaches.
