ATLANTA, May 1, 2019 – Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP is pleased to announce that former Deputy City Attorney for the City of Atlanta, Johnna Goodmark, has joined the firm as a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group. "We are thrilled to welcome Johnna to the firm," said Parker Hudson's Managing Partner, Wayne Hillis. "Her unique experience in private practice and as a City attorney managing the Law Department's Infrastructure and Real Estate Practice Group is a dynamic addition to Parker Hudson's already thriving real estate practice."
Goodmark has more than 20 years of legal experience. Prior to serving as the City's Chief Real Estate Counsel and Deputy City Attorney, she was a real estate partner at Tatum Hillman & Powell, LLP, a 100% women owned firm. Goodmark brings a valuable combination of government and private practice experience to Parker Hudson’s Real Estate Practice Group. Goodmark led the City's in-house team on several major real estate and infrastructure transactions that included the expansion of Piedmont Park, the transfer of the Atlanta Streetcar to MARTA, the Bobby Jones land swap, and the sales of Underground Atlanta, the Atlanta Civic Center, and Turner Field. Goodmark was also the City's real estate counsel for the Gulch redevelopment project. Goodmark has a proven track record of closing complex, multi-faceted real estate transactions.
"I'm excited to return to private practice, and I see Parker Hudson as a perfect fit," Goodmark said. "I'm grateful to the City for the opportunity to be a part of several historic real estate projects that will change the landscape of Atlanta. These projects could not have been completed without the vision and leadership of the Mayor, the Atlanta City Council, the City Attorney, and former and current City leaders. I've learned so much working as in-house counsel at the City. Having years of experience looking through the lens of in-house counsel, I know exactly what business issues clients are facing and am looking forward to guiding our clients as outside counsel."
"Goodmark is well respected throughout the legal community. She's a leader and we are excited to welcome her to the firm," said Ken Kraft, Parker Hudson's senior real estate partner. J.P. Fougerousse, Parker Hudson's Real Estate Practice Group leader added: "Johnna's unique experiences and skill set will enhance our group's and our firm's reputation for providing clients with a business-first approach to legal services."
