John Parker is a founding partner of the firm and retired from his practice in 2018. He specialized in health law for more than 40 years and was widely regarded as one of the pre-eminent lawyers in the field throughout the Southeast. With an emphasis on strategic counseling, John provided his hospital and health system clients with leadership and sage advice driven by his deep involvement in, and service to, the healthcare industry.
A former chair of the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and an ABA Health Law Committee, John was a frequent writer and nationwide lecturer on a wide variety of healthcare topics. The counseling he provided clients included advice on a host of federal and state regulatory issues and related litigation; development of integrated delivery systems and the myriad issues that arise in the consolidation of nonprofit hospitals and health systems, and aligned medical groups; development of local, regional and statewide managed care networks; Sunshine Laws issues and litigation; and issues surrounding uncompensated community benefits.
